Welcome to AGM Batteries, where we are building up details on Absorbed Glass Mat batteries - more commonly called AGM Batteries.

This type of battery is a variation on VRLA Lead Acid batteries, in which the electrolyte is absored into a fibreglass mat.

Due to their unique construction, these batteries discharge more slowly than other battery types, and are treated as a more premium type of battery. High end cars, marine applications and even robotics make use of AGM batteries.

BMW are using AGM batteries on their current range of 5 series to store recovered energy using regenerative braking technology.
